Some sound like they fixed some issues with the 32bit code when they moved to 64, since it's the last chance they'll get to break backward compatibility in the foreseeable future. There ARE some differences in some.at an implementation level. Have you done null testing on 32 and 64bit floating point mixers? I have. Did you get CLOSE to 20 year old hardware digital mixer dynamic range? Yep. The only real reason 64bit DAWs came to be is so people could use more RAM.something a DAW and OS X of his "old" era can do-though, not likely inside the PTHD software.
Not a LOT.and probably that ALONE, wouldn't make a particular difference, but this whole attitude of "you should just move on".when he has a-what would that be $40k new Avid hardware system? HD6? I guess it depends if it's Accel and when in the life cycle it was bought. Probably rather sooner than later though as developers starting to drop 32-bit support, and rightly so.With regards to the audio path on what we're calling "32bit"-because it's 32bit CODEBASE in it's control software.is 48bit fixed INTEGER hardware mixer and DSP, which technically actually DOES have more head/footroom than the new 64bit float spec.
I'd say it's time to move on, gotta do it sooner or later anyway. When I began the install, the prompt read, Now loading Superior Drummer 3 for PT10.Ĭ'mon man, claiming that stuff sounds better on 32-bit than on 64-bit, that's just laughable. Please, one of you tech GuRu's out there, tell me what I've done wrong? Or if I'm *!**&^^&*(+)! And, for all you still using HD systems, you know that a Mac Trash Can is not the answer either because they won't run an OS that old.

PT 10 will not run on anything past OS 10.8? I've got a Mac Pro tower with a ton or Ram and a dedicated Non-ssd drive running (or trying to run) Superior Drummer.

But, when I install the program (and all its many parts) I can't use it as a stand-alone because it says it's min requirement is OS 10.9?. More than 230 GB of carefully sampled drums. I hope (and it's possible) that I'm simply missing something in my install of Superior Drummer 3 because right now, I'm feeling a bit.!! Well, here's the problem.
